Summer Camp Forms and Fees due March 2!

Summer Camp Information & Registration Forms were handed out at last Thursday’s Troop Meeting (1/25). If you didn’t get one, the information is attached. I will also have forms available at the meetings if for some reason you are not able to open these attachments.

Please read the “Information Sheet” as soon as you can as there are some changes over last year. The most significant change is that the FULL PAYMENT MUST BE MADE TO THE SUMMER CAMP COORDINATOR BY MARCH 2ND!

Please note that we are still waiting on the final information regarding SPOKE. This is a new program for Scouts 14 years old and over (see “Information Sheet”). We will get the details out as soon as they become available.

If you have questions, please ask!

David Belford
Summer Camp Coordinator

Webelos night, February 2

We are hosting a whole bunch of Webelos next week. We will be organizing some Super Round Robins around SCUBA, rock climbing, canoeing, and other high-adventure stuff so come early to get briefed. The meeting will start promptly at 7:30. If some of those hotshot JASMs and Greenbars and Quartermasters could get there by 6:45, that would be nice because we need to do some setup.

Also keep in mind that we want the Webelos to fully participate in the meeting so be prepared to integrate them into the patrols so they understand how a troop works. For those who participated in games last year–we will do the same thing this year.

Packing light: Trog’s lessons learned

That is his pack without food, water, and a couple of items of weather-related clothing. In other words, he can pick up his base pack, throw in about two pounds of food and four pounds of water and he can be gone for a couple of days. The bottom line is that his pack doesn’t even weigh 20 pounds.
