The annual Troop 160 ski trip to Gunstock Mountain in New Hampshire will be held on Saturday, February 11th, 2006. Gunstock offers 45 trails for DOWNHILL SKIING and SNOWBOARDING, 50 kilometers of CROSS-COUNTRY trails, 7 chutes for TUBING, and is known for its “guaranteed” Learn-to-Ski program. All equipment is available for rental: skis, snowboards, cross-country skis, snow blades, boots, & helmets. Everyone in the family is welcome! This is a great opportunity to get the whole family out for a day of fun in the winter sun.

This year we are again counting on parents to drive and offer rides to others where space is available. Last year we only had 5 adult drivers and 20 attendees. It’s a really fun day trip so I hope we can have a better turnout this year. Once again there will be an opportunity to earn the Snow Sports Merit Badge. The ski trip information sheet and sign-up sheet will also be available at the troop meetings on January 19th and January 26th. The group rate for an adult lift ticket is $42, teen is $32 (age 13-19) & child is $26 (age 6-12). All forms and payment are due by February 2nd. If you plan on renting equipment or taking a lesson, it is strongly recommended that you submit the forms in advance so that the equipment will be ready for you when you arrive.

Cindy Silva is the ski trip event coordinator again this year. For more information, or to volunteer, please call or email her.
