New Scout parent orientation, March 23

Are you the parent of a new Scout? Do you have questions about patrols, advancement, campouts, equipment, summer camp, or anything else? Troop 160 will be having an orientation session for parents of new Scouts. It will be during the Troop meeting on Thursday, March 23, from 7:30 to 8:45. We look forward to seeing you then.

West Point Camporee signup

We just received the information package for the West Point Camporee. The Camporee will be held May 5-7 at the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York.

There are some optional activities on Friday, May 7, so we’ll probably do what we did last year. Those who can go down early will do so, set up camp, and participate in some activities. Those who can’t go down earlier will leave after school, and still be able to do everything on Saturday and Sunday.

We need to register soon, so we need everyone to give us their signup sheets and money by the Troop meeting on April 23 MARCH 23 (two weeks from today). The signup sheets will be handed out at the Troop meeting tonight, and can also be downloaded below. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me (Barry Griffiths).

As always, camperships are available as needed — click here for more information.

Adults only: Water & climbing safety training

Swim safely/Safety Afloat & Climb on Safely training will be offered at the
District roundtable this Wednesday, March 8, at 7:30PM at St. Brigid’s. All adults are welcome. We do have a climbing trip & a canoe trip scheduled in June,
and we will need adults who are certified in these areas.

Normally we have to travel for this kind of training, but it is right at our
own location (St. Brigid’s), and it does not take long.

Hope to see you there.
