Willard Woods Campout, April 7-8

It appears that word of what we usually call the New Scout Hike and Campout has not leaked out from the Scout meeting to all interested adults. We should know that given our luck with messages from schools …

Attached is a combination information sheet and permission slip. Any Scout is welcome to go on the trip (we need at least three older Scouts), but New Scouts are heavily encouraged to go.

Please bring the permission slip to the Troop meeting on Friday, or contact Scoutmaster Hank Manz (hank_manz -at- yahoo -dot- com).

Rod & Gun Campout, April 29-30

Scouts: The annual Troop 160 camp-out at the Riverside Rod & Gun Club is coming up April 29-30. Saturday, April 29 will be a chance to learn how to fire the rifle, shoot an arrow, and use a shotgun. The permission slip is downloadable below.

Return the slip and $15.00 to Mr Bassett by April 13.

UPDATE, 4/14: Since the April 13 Troop meeting was cancelled, you can return the slip and $15 to Mr. Bassett on April 27 — that’s only two days before the campout. If you’re going and haven’t turned in your slip yet, please contact Mr. Bassett before that so we can plan.

Parents: We need your help! Please volunteer to come to the Riverside Rod & Gun Club with the Troop on Saturday, Apr 29. The scouts will be shooting with well qualified instructors, but we need your help to add an even greater margin of safety during the events. And it’s a great weekend camp-out. So plan to stay for dinner Saturday evening (a dinner you’ll never forget!), participate in an entertaining Troop Campfire, and stay the night if you want. Come for the whole weekend or just Saturday – it’s up to you, just let me know on your Scout’s permission slip.

This is the official request to sign up to work the pancake breakfast. The pancake breakfast is Monday, April 17th (Patriots’ Day). PLEASE NOTE: Due to this being Easter Weekend, we are moving the setup time previously planned for Thursday to Saturday afternoon. Those of you signed up for Thursday, may need to rethink your assignments. Please let me know.

Also, anyone who cannot be there for Saturday, Sunday or Monday, but is available ahead of time could roll napkins (at home even). Please volunteer in that way if you cannot be there to help on the three main days.

Here is brief description of the jobs:
