Troop 160,
I’ve heard some gossip that several scouts are interested in cycling out to the Cook-a-ree next weekend, but so far only one has actually told me that he wants to ride. Mr. Healy has said that he’ll come along, so unless a lot more scouts are coming, we’re covered for adults. If any more scouts (or adults) want to join in, please send me an e-mail or, at the very latest, let me know at the Thursday Troop meeting. We’ll ride regardless of the numbers.
The route is about 10 miles each way, and you’ll be able pack your gear into a car so you don’t have to haul it on your bike (unless you really want to). We can even accommodate some riders that only want to pedal one way.
A helmet is required, a water bottle is a good idea, a repair kit is useful but not necessary (I should be able to cover anything that might come up bike-wise). As always dress in layers for the weather with special attention to your fingers and toes (they can get pretty cold on a bike). We’ll meet at St. Brigid’s at 9:00 with the rest of the Troop. Feel free to send me any questions or comments.
Mike Ames
