This year’s Cookoree will be November 4-5 at Camp Acton, the same place we had it last year. The Troop, Webelos Scouts, and all their families are welcome. We’ll be roasting turkeys, baking pies, and doing a full Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone’s welcome to stay overnight, or just come for dinner. We also have the opportunity for a good walk — the Bay Circuit Trail passes through Camp Acton. If you have any questions, contact Andy Dixon.

Troop library donations
Hello all,
I would greatly appreciate it if everyone donated those old merit badge pamphlets to the troop. Also, if any scout is willing to help out with inventorying the library during game time, I will appreciate it.
Yours in scouting,
Matthew S., Troop Librarian
UPDATE: Check the Advancement and Eagle Trail page under Resources for new info about the Troop Merit Badge Library.
Eagle project this weekend
Hi Everyone,
This weekend, on Saturday the 14th from 10am-3pm, I am looking for some volunteers to help me work on my Eagle Project. It will as previous times have shown, be a fun time of getting dirty, and doimg some awesome service.
We will be meeting again behind the First Baptist Church of Lexington, which resides across the street from the police station. All you have to do is go up the driveway that goes up the slope to the left of the chruch, and go around the back of the buillding. Since there is lots of brush being cleared, please wear pants, and if you have them, work gloves. Lunch and snacks will be provided. I hope to see you all there. If there are any questions feel free to email me or call me.

Record setting White Mountains Swim
Our Scoutmaster wrote:
And the legend grows … The water will get colder with each re-telling of the tale, of course, and even now I believe it has gotten to the point that we had to break through the ice to get to the water.
Seriously–the water was probably around 55 degrees. The picture was taken yesterday around 9:30 AM. The sub was warm and the water, while cold, was clear and smooth. Air temperature was probably 65 degrees. Unfortunately, I didn’t take my iButton temperature module with me so we will never know how cold it really was. We know it was below freezing the first night because we couldn’t open the water containers the next morning until we broke the ice seal.
But I think we have set a record for the latest date for a swim in a pond in New Hampshire . When Geoff’s mother asked if it was cold, Geoff said “Once my vision cleared, it was fine.”
