Message from Scoutmaster Hank Manz:

Troop 119 has arranged for a one-day leader training session. As the note from their Scoutmaster will explain, this is a great opportunity for training. Everybody who has an interest in being a leader in any capacity should take this training.

To tell us you are interested, please send a note to 160scoutmaster@troop160.com and 119scoutmaster@troop119.com.

Thanks,
-Hank

Dear Parents,

Troop 119 wants to have all the adult leaders who work with the boys on
trips and in meetings to understand how the Boy Scout program is
intended to function; how “boy-led troops” work; how all the parts work
together; and what you, as an adult leader, are supposed to do. The
Scoutmaster Fundamentals Training is a great way to gain this
understanding. If you want to want to have more fun with the boys on
trips, help run the troop better, or are just curious how Boy Scouts
works, you should consider coming.

Many times this course is 3 or 6 evenings, but we have arranged for a
one day course. The course is going to be held on Sunday, April 13 at
the Egan Center (Camp Sayre, Milton). The course is being taught by
Marian McQuaid, with some help from other leaders. The Egan Center in
Milton is about 30 minutes from Lexington. We’ll figure out car pools,
for those who are interested, closer to the meeting date.

I would like to encourage all adults who are interested in learning how
to be a Boy Scout Adult Leader to attend. Please let me know if you can
attend or are interested in attending this meeting. I’m looking for the
YES’s and MAYBE’s so we can work out the room logistics and how many
additional trainers we need.

Yours in Scouting,
Bernie Gunther
