T160 Cookeree – a few last minute details

The T160 Cookeree is this weekend (Nov 1st and 2nd, 2008)!  Here are a few last minute details:

When:
Scouts should meet at St. Brigids at 9am if possible, to load up equipment and travel over.  Folks who can’t make it then should come over whenever they can.

DRIVERS MAY BE NEEDED – if you can drive boys over to the campsite around 9:30/9:45am please reply to me and check in with me Saturday at 9am.  Its about a 25 minute ride (one way).

BRING A BAG LUNCH FOR SATURDAY LUNCH

Where:  Camp Acton, Acton, MA
Here are the directions to Camp Acton:

Rte. 2A through Concord center onto Lowell St. for 2.7 miles, then left onto Westford Rd. for 0.8 miles, then left onto Spencer Brook Rd.    At the end of Spencer Brook Rd. (0.3 miles), turn left onto Pope Rd. The dirt driveway to the campground is on the right after a few hundred yards, before the horse pasture.  Drive to the end of the dirt driveway.  Please park close together and be careful not to block the narrow driveway.  Please carpool if possible, as parking is a bit tight.
Extra Things to Bring:
- Flashlight (one per person) – it will be dark mid-way through dinner
- Warm Clothes – the temperature is expected to drop down below freezing at night, so it will be between 30F and 40F after sunset
- Bag Lunch for Saturday

See you Saturday!

HUB Train display Saturday and Sunday 10-5

Please note!

The HUB Division will be displaying and operating their HO trains in
the  St. Brigid Parish Center Hall on Saturday and Sunday 10-5.  All
are welcome!  In fact, we will probably allow scouts to run trains if
they wish, so come anytime on Saturday or Sunday and have some fun.

Stoves — Once lost, now found

The stoves are no longer lost.  I forgot that we had checked them out to the Cub Scouts along with a couple of cook kits.

Now here is the best part–they returned them CLEAN.  Boy Scouts take note.  Clean!  So we don’t have to wash them.  Fantastic!!!!  This could catch on … I hope.

Missing Coleman stoves

While unpacking the patrol boxes from the White Mountain trip, it became clear that Coleman stoves #4 and #5 are missing.  They should have been packed in the patrol boxes, but apparently were not.  If anybody accidentally took them home or put them someplace out of the ordinary, please call me or send me an e-mail.  We really need to locate those stoves because we use them on every campout including the upcoming Cook-O-Ree.
