Summer Canoe Trip in Maine 2009

Hi All,

I’m trying to put together a crew for a Maine High Adventure canoe trip similar to the one last summer.
The time frame (depending on availability) would be the last 2 weeks in July or first week of August.
Minimum age is 13 by January 1, 2009.
Let me know if you’re interested so we can get a slot for this summer.

Just how cold was it at the Cook-O-Ree?

Cook-O-Ree 2008 went well with over 100 guests served.  The organization was terrific!  But the real question is always “How much cold weather can I brag about this year?”

Unfortunately, not much this year.  Attached is a PDF with a printout from my iButton temperature recording device.  I have had to correct by three degrees because I left the iButton clipped to my duffle and then slept near it, both of which probably threw things off.  Fortunately I got up once during the night to check the campsite so I got an indication of how much I would have to correct the readings.

Of course you don’t have to show the chart to anybody so if you want to tell people that is was at least 5 below, go ahead.  But remember that first Scout Law …
