White Mountains Campout

Hello to all.  The final plans are coming together for the Columbus Day Weekend Campout.  As of last night, we had roughly 35 scouts and 15 adults planning to go.  For anyone with a scout attending this activity, please review this information regarding meals.  For anyone who plans to join us in NH (for a guaranteed good time), please review the attached White Mountains Adult Info

Everyone brings their own bag lunch for Saturday and everyone will need money for a “fast food” lunch stop on the way home on Monday.  The adults prepare and serve breakfast on Sunday and Monday morning for everyone.  We also prepare and distribute the trail lunch for Sunday.  That leaves two dinners to complete the meals for the weekend.  The scouts cook outside, by patrol, on Saturday and Sunday evening.  I have limited kitchen space in the house to prepare dinner for all the adults.  Consequently, we are asking families to provide food (in nonreturnable trays) that we can warm up in the oven or serve directly (i.e., salad) for the adult volunteers for both dinners.  If you are willing to provide something please let me know what you can offer, so we can plan the adult meals accordingly.  Please reply to me and not “reply all”.

Any extra food is donated to the Mount Prospect Academy in Plymouth.  Mt. Prospect is a semi-secure facility for boys at risk, age 11-19.  They have appreciated the donations in the past, as I’m sure they will again.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Yours in scouting,
– Alan Simpson
