Hello all,
As many of you know, I am the ASPL of Program, and I help run all the round robins, and other such things. Can all instructors please email me as soon as possible so we can start planning what to do at upcoming meetings? This is to ensure that we are prepared for the meetings and not assigning duties at the last minute. If any older scout (rank preferably Star or higher) wishes to be an instructor, please email me. A note to other junior leaders-if you do not know or completely understand what you are supposed to be doing because of a lack of precedent, do not hesitate to email me or the ASPL of New Scouts if you are a Guide. I will be more than glad to help you, as that means you are truly invested in fulfilling your leadership position.
It is very important to fulfill your leadership position, especially if you are receiving advancement credit for it. This includes essentially all Junior Leader positions as of now, with a notable addition to the list being APL. Because APLs have not traditionally done much, you should contact your patrol leader to find a niche where you can serve your patrol. Ideas include coordinating advancement for the patrol and gear for a camping trip, but there are many other things you can do out there. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Matthew Shorter,
ASPL of Program
