An Eagle announcement you may have missed

Two things have been pointed out to me.

a. I cannot count.

b. Not everybody seems to have received an e-mail I sent in early July about our then newest Eagle.  My apologies to Sam Estabrooks who made an excellent presentation before his Eagle Board of Review and thus became, I think, the 105th Eagle in the 55 years we have been a troop.

Sam’s project can be seen on many streets in Lexington.  He built several new signboards for the Farmers’ Market.  They were very much appreciated.

Our newest Eagle

We have a new Eagle in Troop 160.  Ryan Woodhouse passed his Board of Review tonight and joins 104 other Eagles from our troop.  Congratulations!

And a thank you to Jeff Shorter who filled in for the Scoutmaster who had a conflict caused by the selectmen’s meeting tonight.

White Mountains Camping/Hiking Trip – Forms/Payment are DUE!!!

Hi everyone,

This is a reminder that the attached permission slip and payment for this year’s White Mountains trip during Columbus Day weekend are due no later than the September 16th troop meeting.  Please note that a late fee of $5.00 will be assessed for all registrations received after September 16th.

Adults and scouts, please be sure to indicate on the permission slip which option you are interested in:

Option 1: camping/hiking based at Moose Brook State Park
or
Option 2: a multi-night backpacking trip coordinated by Will Leavitt

Please return your permission slip and payment to me at next week’s troop meeting or at my house

Thanks,

Adults SM/ASM training

This is a super offer!

Courtesy of a hotshot training team, SM/ASM-specific training is being offered in two segments–this Sunday and next Sunday from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM at St Brigid Church in the parish hall.

BSA is requiring all ASMs to take a series of courses and this is one of the hardest ones to get.

Go to www.bsaboston.org to sign up for the course, but if you cannot figure it out, then show up at the parish hall and we will sign you up.  I will send out a more specific note tomorrow, but block out the time if you can.

Who should take the course?  Frankly, it will be of benefit to ANYBODY who plans to help with the troop.  One of the great benefits of the course is not the awesome training, but rather the fact that you will meet other leaders.  In short, you will learn you are not alone.

What is the cost?  Free.  Gratis.  Nothing.

Yes, we will have refreshments, but if you wanted to bring something, we would not turn you down.

Keep in mind you need to come to both weeks.  This Sunday and next Sunday.  1:30 – 4:30 PM.

More information tomorrow.
