Last summer a crew from Troop 160 and Troop 119 spent a week on the Allagash Wilderness Waterway in northern Maine. We now have a gallery of photos from this trip on the Troop website, and it looks like it was a pretty great trip. Take a look here.

Service opportunity: Wilson’s Eagle project
Hi Everyone,
This Saturday I will be needing help for my Eagle Project. We will be replacing the boards on the Battle Green benches, a task which will require a lot of precise measuring, some drilling, sawing and painting, and lots of bolt loosening and tightening.
I already have enough helpers for Friday, so I will be needing scouts for Saturday.
The time for Saturday will be from 8:30 to 11:30. Be sure to bring work gloves and safety glasses if you wish to help out. Although I will have extras, I won’t have enough for everyone.
Depending on the progress done on Friday and Saturday, we may need to work on Sunday as well. If this is the case, I’ll send out a followup email. Stay tuned to that.
Thanks,
Wilson
First camping trip of the year
Hi all,
It is time to get ready for the first camping trip of the season. It is going to be a great one. The trip is a camporee put on by the Flintlock District of the Boston Minuteman Council. There is lots of info in the attached flyer.
Key info:
Location: Parker Mountain Scout Camp (not too far from Hidden Valley)
Date: Friday evening – Sunday noon Sept 19 – 21 — Need rough numbers on THIS Thursday Aug 28. Need form on Thursday Sept 4. (The BSA is requiring us to file trip plans 10 days prior)
This is a great trip. We hope all can attend. Please let your scout look over the flyer and let them know if they can participate. They will be asked if they can participate on Thursday.
Hope all is well. This will also be fun for adult leaders.

More camp photos
I have added to the photos in the camp slide show with some pictures from our week at Hidden Valley. While watching the show you will see some pauses as photos are downloaded so they can be shown. They are saved as high-res images so they will yield good prints. If anybody has others, just send them to me on a disk or on a USB drive and I will add them … although I am going to have to purchase more space.
Many of the Hidden Valley photos are courtesy of Bob Foley.
The link is the same, but if you have forgotten, here it is again. If I get a lot more photos I will probably split the show into two parts or perhaps even more.
Note that the photos may be downloaded or sent off to a photo printing service. If you have problems viewing the show or figuring out how to print photos you want, let me know.
There are plans to change the soundtrack by having Scouts tell about their experiences at camp.
